Thank you for your interest in this wonderful breed. Our website will tell you a bit about our club, the activities and the events we associate with and participate in.Section D stallion, Kelly Acres Kabuki
Jim Mowery enjoys a bareback ride on Hubers Jazzman Some of our members have been involved with this breed for many years, with an outstanding fund of knowledge and history behind them. Others have just acquired their first Welsh Pony and want to find out about the kinds of things they can do with their pony, and to enjoy the camaraderie of other Welsh Pony fans.
Every year the Presidents Award is given to a deserving person for their outstanding contribution in promoting the Welsh Breed. This is our most important objective. The members nominate and vote for the member of their choice. We also have a high point program in which individual pony's show placing are accumulated over the year, and in turn are accumulated over the life of the pony. The club has an annual general meeting in April of each year, alternating between the Interior of B.C. and the Fraser Valley. In doing this, members have a chance to visit other areas and see ponies outside their immediate area. General meetings are also held a few times a year.North Peace Lynx, bred by Yvonne Charlesworth, ridden by Madison McDougall
Section A Welsh Pony -Sweet Ruby Tuesday and Charlize at the 2007 BC Welsh Show in Maple RidgeThe club members do get together often, sometimes at a show, pleasure drive or a casual get together. Many of our members also belong to the local Carriage Club and participate in driving events both locally and in the Interior and Washington State. There are also fun drives to encourage those just getting started.
However you choose to associate with the breed, please don't be shy. If you have any questions or concerns or just want to "see some ponies", give a member a call. Most of us love to have a visitor to see our ponies. The people in this club really are like the ponies we all love so much, hardy, spirited, friendly and eager to please.
